ABBA Parts is an industry leader specializing in aftermarket parts to fit most popular brands of water and wastewater pumps. We require two Technical, Inside Sales Representatives to help us service the growing demand for our products.
POSITIONS AVAILABLE - Technical Inside Sales, Engineering Manager
Technical Inside Sales
You are an energetic, positive person with a “can-do” attitude possessing a strong mechanical aptitude and an interest in sales. You have at least 2 years of relevant experience estimating and quoting. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage tasks in a self directed manner. You have an excellent telephone manner, verbal and written communication skills. You are able to read & interpret machining and assembly drawings and possess solid drafting skills. You are able to use precision machine shop measuring tools and take accurate measurements. Computer literate with attention to details and accuracy is essential. Proven mathematical / analytical ability.
Education: Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Sales / Customer service / Engineering
- Engaging in other activities as needed to fully satisfy the customer
- Support to Reps/Resellers
- Identify customer needs and research competitors (OEM) technical data files
- Quote preparation
- Follow up of quotations
- Order processing
- Some mechanical design engineering and reverse engineering of pump components
- Product design (using AutoCAD)
- Support for our Reps and Resellers
- Some outside sales work (up to 30%)
- Other duties as assigned by the Sales Manager
Engineering Manager
DESCRIPTION
- Engineering support to manufacturing, production and inside sales
- Design of component and assemblies to fit / retrofit various makes and models of centrifugal pumps in water and wastewater applications
- Research and advise on technical questions relating to warranty claims and/or technical customer service
- Reverse engineer customer samples and develop manufacturing drawings
- Visit customers on occasion to inspect and troubleshoot installations
- Create manufacturing drawings in AutoCAD
- Manage our drawing library
- Assist with Q.A. and help develop/enhance our Q.A. procedures
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Proficient in AutoCAD and preparation of component machining drawings and pump assembly drawings
- Knowledge of machine shop practices and production procedures
- Must be able to use and read measuring tools such as micrometers, verniers
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to design/work with machines and rotating equipment
- Minimum 5 years experience in mechanical (machine) design/engineering
- Firm understanding of critical fits and tolerances
- Manage our drawing library
- Assist with Q.A. and help develop/enhance our Q.A. procedures
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in centrifugal pump design, application, manufacturing, assembly and service
- Knowledge and understanding of metal casting process and pattern design
- Experience with CMM equipment
- Experience with machine shop Q.A. practices and procedures
- Knowledge of hydraulic fundamentals and pump performance characteristics
QUALITIES OF THE RIGHT INDIVIDUAL
- Ability to multi task and take on a variety of engineering related roles and responsibilities
- Must be willing and able to travel on occasion to customers and job sites across North America
- Must be willing and able to work on occasion in the shop to assist in tear down and inspection of pumps and to measure and perform take-off’s from customer sample
- Ability to manage all tasks in a self directed manner with a minimum of supervision and direction
- Must be a self starter with strong organizational skills
- Must have proven analytical / research skills and ability to problem solve
- Must be able to demonstrate a high degree of accuracy and strong attention to detail in all aspects of work
- Must be comfortable working in a small team oriented environment
- Must be looking for long term employment and content to grow as the company grows
